Side Tap: Scuttlebutt Hoptopia (Everett, WA) This "imperial IPA" has a very strong hop aroma and flavor, however it isn't as bitter as the Gale Force IPA. There is a strong malt backbone to offer a level of balance but with over two and a half pounds of hops per barrel it resonates hops from start to finish. With so much flavor happening you miss the 8.6% alcohol by volume so be careful when serving or drinking. Hops were added at every stage of the process...it was dry-hopped with chinooks for two weeks. 75 IBU's. Hops: chinook, centennial, columbus, cascade, bullion. |
